警方周二在温尼泊红河内发现浮尸

周二下午有市民在红河发现了一具尸体，警方和紧急服务中心的人员在下午4点到达了位于Norwood Bridge东边的事发现场。

警方表示调查正在进行中，尚未公布任何进一步的信息。

Body found near Norwood Bridge

WINNIPEG - Police are investigating after a body was discovered under a railway bridge near the Norwood Bridge Friday morning at about 10:30 a.m.

A police spokeswoman said the Homicide Unit and the Major Crimes Unit are not involved. Officers from Division 16 are handling the matter.

She said the discovery of the body was in "suspicious circumstances."

Police did not say if the body was male or female or estimate the age of the person.

At about 1:30 p.m., yellow police tape surrounded the eastern portion of the bridge.

The area is lined by bushes. Under the corner of the bridge, a blue duffel bag could be seen.

Emergency crews have pulled a body from the Red River. Winnipeg police and first responders were called to a spot on the river just east of the Norwood Bridge about 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 after they were told a body had been found in the water. (Winnipeg Sun files)
